Structure and characteristics of crossed roller bearings

Crossed roller bearing is a relatively high precision bearing. Cross roller slewing bearing also is a kind of cross roller bearing. Due to its special structure, the inner rollers are arranged in a 1:1 cross, which is widely used in the field of robotics and automation. The size of the inner and outer rings of the crossed roller bearing has been very miniaturized by the manufacturer, especially for some small sizes with relatively thin structures, it is more suitable for some precision parts, such as the rotating part of the manipulator, medical instruments, precision rotary table, and it's quite versatile.

The crossed roller bearing is a kind of bearing used to divide the inner ring and the outer ring for rotation. On the divided inner ring and even the outer ring, the manufacturer will install rollers and spacers in it, so that the cross roller collars are fixed together in order to avoid them being separated from each other, and the overall installation process is quite simple. Since the rollers in the cross roller bearing are arranged in a cross manner, it is loads in all respects. Compared with other rolling bearings, its rigidity is increased several times.

Since the inner ring and the outer ring are separated from each other, the clearance in the crossed roller bearing can be adjusted, and even if some load is added, the rotating motion can be performed with high precision. The existence of the crossed roller bearing reduces the processing cost and the length of the shaft, and its thermal expansion will lead to a relatively small range of geometrical changes. Although the structure of the crossed roller bearing is quite simple, the lubrication is sufficient.

The crossed roller bearing has good rotation accuracy. The internal structure of the crossed roller bearing is arranged in a way of crossing each other perpendicularly due to the use of rollers, and a cage and a spacer block are also installed, which prevents the rollers inside in the process of tilting, there is friction between different rollers. Since there is no contact or even locking between different rollers, the rotation accuracy is quite high. And because the inner and outer rings are separated from each other, the structural gap can be adjusted, and the installation is also easy to operate.
